Joseph Hartsfield Obituary and Death Cause

Joseph Hartsfield, aged 46, passed away on January 15 in a Baytown hospital, as determined by the Harris County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The cause of death was cited as “complications of toxic effects of insulin.” However, Joseph’s online obituary stated that he had “passed away peacefully due to complications of an ischemic stroke, with his loving wife at his side.”

Joseph was admitted to the hospital on January 7 after his blood sugar levels dropped dangerously low. His wife, Sarah, reportedly did not call authorities for at least an hour after finding him unresponsive.

Detectives discovered 8-10 insulin pens on Joseph’s side of the bed, leading to suspicions of foul play.

During the investigation, hospital nurses described the situation as “odd” and “weird” as Joseph’s blood sugar levels continued to drop despite attempts to raise them with sugar.

Family members informed investigators that Joseph had recently opened a new bank account and had expressed concerns about his safety, suspecting that Sarah might try to harm him.

The circumstances surrounding Joseph Hartsfield’s death and the presence of insulin pens raised suspicions, leading to Sarah being charged with first-degree murder.

The investigation into his death and the events leading up to it continue as authorities work to uncover the truth.

Joseph Hartsfield Wife, Sarah Hartsfield Charged With Murder

Sarah Hartsfield, the wife of Joseph Hartsfield, is facing a murder charge in Chambers County, Texas, following the death of her husband.

The couple’s relationship was described by family members as toxic, with Joseph expressing intentions to divorce Sarah.

In early January, Joseph was admitted to the hospital due to a sudden drop in his blood sugar levels.

Sarah claimed it resulted from a diabetic episode and said she had tried to help him by providing juice. However, investigators discovered evidence contradicting Sarah’s account, including multiple insulin pens in Joseph’s room.

During their investigation, authorities also spoke to a nurse who had treated Joseph and found her suspicions raised by the amount of glucose they had to administer to him.

The nurse believed Joseph might have been given excessive insulin before arriving at the hospital, which could have caused his blood sugar to drop dangerously. Sarah has been indicted of first-degree murder in connection with Joseph’s death.

Adding to the complexity of the case, authorities in Minnesota announced they would re-examine a previous death involving Sarah, the fatal shooting of her former fiancé in 2018, after her indictment.

Sarah’s attorneys have filed a motion to reduce her $5 million bond, but the state has opposed it, citing concerns about her potential to flee. The case unfolds as investigators gather more information, and Sarah awaits further legal proceedings.
