biography

Jordan Spieth was born on July 27, 1993 to Mary Christine and Shawn Spieth in Dallas, Texas. He was the first child of three children.

Spieth grew up playing a variety of sports, most notably football and baseball, before later turning his full attention to golf. Around the age of nine, his parents joined Brookhaven Country Club to provide their boy, who was beginning to take an interest in the sport, with access to proper facilities.

While attending St. Monica Catholic School and later Jesuit College Preparatory School, which he graduated from in 2011, had already begun to attract the attention of golf enthusiasts. He was a two-time US Junior Amateur Championship winner before going to college.

He played college golf for the University of Texas, with which he won the NCAA championship in his freshman year. In his sophomore year, Spieth was voted the best amateur golfer in the world. At the age of 19, before completing his sophomore year, he decided to turn professional.

Before his 20th birthday, Spieth won his first PGA title at the John Deere Classic. He finished second twice at the Wyndham Championship and the Tour Championship to earn a spot on the Presidents Cup team and was named PGA Tour Rookie of the Year.

A few brilliant performances in big tournaments followed for Spieth before he clinched his second PGA Tour win at the 2015 Valspar Championship. After that win, he won the Masters tournament to compare to other golfing greats and the rest is history.

He is reported to be making around $50 million annually from both golf tournaments and endorsement deals with companies such as Under Armour, Coca-Cola, AT&T and Rolex. By the end of 2017, Speith’s net worth is expected to be around $60 million.

That number is sure to increase in the years to come as Spieth continues to win and the inventory of Under Armor he owns continues to grow.

In 2016, the young golfer bought a 5 bedroom, 16,655 square foot mansion in Dallas, Texas for $7.1 million. The home features a basketball court, 12-car underground parking, golf simulator room, courtyard with spa and fire pit, fully equipped outdoor kitchen and wine cellar, among many other amenities.

It’s definitely an upgrade from his former 7,400-square-foot home in Preston Hollow, which he bought for $2.3 million.

Does he have a wife or girlfriend?

Jordan Spieth is not yet married. However, he is engaged to his longtime girlfriend, Annie Verret, who works as an events coordinator.

The lovebirds met in high school and have been together ever since. She was frequently seen on his side during all of his championship wins, so it came as no great surprise to the public and their families when they announced their engagement in December 2017.
