Jonas Jerebko is a Swedish professional basketball player who was born on March 2, 1987. He was selected by the Detroit Pistons as the 39th overall choice in the second round of the 2009 NBA draft, becoming only the second Swedish basketball player to be drafted after Miles Simon.
Jerebko played for four different NBA clubs during his ten-year career, including the Detroit Pistons, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, and Golden State Warriors. He also spent two seasons with the Russian club Khimki.
Jerebko’s love of basketball began at an early age, and he participated in a variety of sports while growing up in Sweden.
With both of his parents being basketball players, it was no surprise that Jerebko excelled at the sport, especially given that it was not a popular sport among his peers.
During his final year of high school, he relocated to Massachusetts to pursue better basketball chances, and he shone on the court, earning multiple offers.
In 2005, Jerebko committed to playing basketball at the University of Buffalo in his father’s hometown, but he eventually forfeited his scholarship to pursue a professional career.
