Johnny Gill was born on May 22, 1966 in Washington, D.C., U.S.A. At age 17, Gill’s recording career started and under Atlantic Records, his self-titled album was finally released. On the album, he played drums, bongos, bass and guitar. Along with Stacy Lattisaw, Gill’s duet album was released and it was titled Perfect Combination. Still under Atlantic Records, his second album titled Half Crazy was released.
In 1987, he joined New Edition. The group’s most notable singles were “N.E. Heartbreak”, “Boys To Men”, “If It Isn’t Love” and “Can You Stand The Rain”.
