Born Johnathan Hildred Wall Jr. on September 6, 1990 in Raleigh, North Carolina, he was the only son of Frances Pulley and John Carroll. He has a sister, Cierra, a half-sister, Tonya, and a half-brother, John Carroll Wall Jr. His father, John, served a long time in prison. He was diagnosed with liver cancer around the time he was released and died of the disease on August 24, 1999 at the age of 52.
