John Davan Sainsbury, Baron Sainsbury of Preston Candover, was the President of Sainsbury’s, a British businessman, and a politician who sat in the House of Lords as a member of the Conservative Party.
John Sainsbury was born on 2nd November 1927 to Alan John Sainsbury, Baron Sainsbury who was also a British business executive and a leading member of the supermarket Sainsbury family. He was the grandson of John James Sainsbury and Mary Ann Staples.
John Sainsbury died on the 14th day of January 2022 at the age of 96. He was survived by a wife, Anya Linden, a former ballerina, and three children; Sarah Butler-Sloss (born 1964), John Julian (born 1966), and Mark (born 1969).
