John Burke Krasinski, born October 20, 1979, is an American actor and director best known for his role as Jim Halpert in the NBC sitcom The Office.
Krasinski studied theatre at Brown University and the National Theater Institute, and he has been nominated for four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. He was named one of Time’s 100 most important persons in the World in 2018.
In the year 2000, Krasinski began his career as an intern scriptwriter for the Late Night with Conan O’Brien show. He traveled to New York after finishing his schooling at Brown University to pursue acting, where he featured in commercials, guest-starred on TV series, and worked as a waiter while conducting off-Broadway play readings.

Kevin Krasinski, John Krasinski’s older brother, is an orthopedic surgeon who chose to pursue a career in medicine as his parents did. He finished his undergraduate studies at Colgate University and acquired his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine, where he also won the Charles and Jane Brusch Prize and was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Krasinski completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Tufts-New England Medical Center after graduating from medical school. Later, he pursued a fellowship in orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery at Duke University Medical Center.
He worked as a team doctor for several athletic departments throughout this fellowship, including those at Boston College, Duke University, and North Carolina Central University.
Dr. Krasinski specializes in treating sports injuries as an orthopedic surgeon, particularly those involving the shoulder and knee. He treats athletes, including those who compete in basketball, football, and hockey programs with a national reputation.
He works at EmergeOrtho, Triangle Region Burlington conducting minimally invasive surgeries and using cutting-edge techniques. He also lectures for the Elon University Physician Assistant Program and acts as a clinical preceptor.

The Farmhouse is a new business owned by Paul Krasinski, the brother of the actor John Krasinski, and is situated in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Paul’s passion project is a 10-acre retreat that offers young people meaningful programming and in-person encounters to support their career and personal development.
The goal is to help young people identify their actual interests, whether they be in the arts or in environmental activism, and to give them the resources they need to pursue their goals and make the world a better place.
Paul acquired the software business Epicenter Experience, which he co-founded in 2015, and gave over $2 million to the charity arm of the venture, The Farmhouse Retreat Inc., to launch the initiative.
In Newton, Massachusetts, where their father Ronald was interested in interpersonal relationships and face-to-face encounters, Paul and his brother were raised. Paul bought and started renting out The Farmhouse after first going there in 2017, and is now bringing his father’s ideas there.
