John Katzman is an entrepreneur in the field of education. He is the creator of Noodle Education, which is a search and recommendation engine for schools, tutors, instructional videos, coaches, and any other education resource a user may be interested in. Prior to that, he established 2U, a company that collaborates with institutions such as the University of Southern California, Georgetown University, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and others to offer degree programmes online. He served as the company’s chief executive officer until January 2012. As the creator of The Princeton Review, Katzman is perhaps most recognised for his work since his birth in 1959. 

The Princeton Review was established in 1981 by Katzman, a graduate of Princeton University who began by teaching SAT preparation to high-school students in New York City before expanding to other cities. Although Katzman is the founder of a successful business based on preparing for a wide range of standardised tests (including the SAT, ACT, GMAT, GRE, LSAT, and MCAT), he is a vocal critic of the modern obsession with standardised testing, arguing that many tests are no better indicators of achievement in the relevant fields than grades and scores on other tests (such as the Advanced Placement Test). On a variety of issues relating to education and the assessment of academic performance, he is often asked to lecture. The founder of many additional education businesses, such as Tutor.com and Student Advantage, Katzman is an angel investor in other education technology startups, and he serves on the boards or advisory boards of several others. Katzman received his bachelor’s degree from Harvard University.
