A week later, on August 17, 2021, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office reported that the Gerrish Family was dead.

John Gerrish and Ellen Chung were the English visitors who have tried California Hiking lately.
But their journey ended in tragically, losing not only their lives but also their infant daughter and a family dog.
Reports claim that John worked in a Silicon Valley while the nature of his work and backgrounds are not made public (or still in research). Similarly, his wife Ellen was a Yoga Instructor before she got pregnant with their daughter.

John and Ellen hailed from an English family.
While John allegedly had a white ancestry, Ellen’s family is probably from Asia. However, no official records have been registered regarding their backgrounds.
The late John and Kelly had a daughter named Miju.
Initially, the County Sheriff misspelled the daughter’s name, citing her ‘Muji.’ But later, they republished the corrected reports and stated that Gerrish Family lost their daughter ‘Miju,’ a year old.

John Gerrish and Ellen Chung’s reported death cause is due to carbon monoxide.
The NPR Deputy Kristie Mitchell mentioned that there are carbon monoxide mines around the area where the Gerrish Family were discovered dead.
Reports further claim that the death of their family dog has made the case unclear. Mitchell mentioned;
“Coming across a scene where everyone involved, including the deceased family dog, that is not a typical thing that we have seen or other agencies have seen. That is why we’re treating it as a hazmat situation. We don’t know.”
Neither John’s nor Ellen’s age is up to the mark. Their daughter was only 1 year old, born on August 4, 2020.
