Charo Net Worth: Charo is a Spanish-American musician, actress and comedian who has a net worth of $12 million. Charo was born Maria del Rosario Mercedes Pilar Martinez Molina Baeza on January 15, 1951. She grew up playing the flamenco guitar.  She married 66-year-old bandleader Xavier Cugat in 1966 and the pair moved to the United States around the same time. She made her TV debut on “The Today Show” during the 1960s. Her inability to speak fluent English became a recurring gag with TV hosts and led to the development of her now-famous phrase “cuchi cuchi”. By 1971, Charo became a Vegas headliner and filed for divorce from Cugat the same year she became a naturalized U.S. citizen (1977). She went on to earn roles on “Donny & Marie”, “Tony Orlando and Dawn”, “The Mike Douglas Show”, and “The Love Boat”. For the next two decades, Charo left the spotlight and moved to Hawaii where she worked at her own dinner theater and raised her children. She began appearing on TV again during the 2000s with several commercials, and on “Hollywood Squares”, “That ’70s Show”, “Dancing with the Stars”, “RuPaul’s Drag U” and “The Surreal Life”. Charo returned to touring the country and appearing in Vegas and on cruise ships. She has released six albums, including “Guitar Passion” and “Charo and Guitar”. Charo has been married to her husband, Kjell Rasten, since 1978.
