John Abraham is not only known for his outstanding roles in Bollywood movies, he is also popular among the hottest young actors in the Indian entertainment industry.
The actor who is also a producer and former model is best known for his appearances in most Hindi films and starring in commercially successful films like the 2013 political thriller spy film Madras Café; the 2013 crime biopic Shootout at Wadala and Force 2, an up -and-coming action spy film, which happens to be his latest to date. His first film, however, was Jism, an erotic thriller directed by Amit Saxena in 2003, in which Abraham was portrayed in the role of Kabir Lal in the film.

Abraham was born in Kochi, Kerala, India on December 17, 1972, to a middle-class family with mixed religious and ethnic heritage. He grew up in Mumbai and was educated at Bombay Scottish School before moving to Jai Hind College to earn a bachelor’s degree in economics. He then obtained his MBA from the Mumbai Educational Trust.
Career
Abraham didn’t start his career as an actor but as a model, thanks to his incredible physique and macho looks. He has appeared in a number of music videos including the song of Punjabi singer Jazzy B. He has also acted in the following videos: Hans Raj Hans, Pankaj Udhas and Babul Supriyo. At first, he was mainly used as a substitute for models who did not show up for a shoot and at the request of his boss to complete the campaign. Soon he himself became in demand and even modeled for notable companies in Hong Kong, London and New York.
While doing so, he worked as a media planner for an advertising agency Enterprise Nexus in Mumbai. His main turning point, however, came in March 1999 when he participated in the Gladrags Manhunt in which he qualified for the finals and traveled to the Philippines where he was declared the first runner-up. Abraham’s acting career actually started after he took over at Kishore Namit Kapoor’s acting lab. Almost immediately after, the young actor made his second appearance as Dr. Akash “Akki” Bhatnagar in the paranormal romance horror film Saaya. He has acted alongside tall and extremely beautiful Bollywood actresses like Tara Sharma who is also The Tara Sharma Show host; and former model and actress Mahima Chaudhry. Other films he has appeared in include Dhoom,Paap, Lakeer – Forbidden Lines (all released in 2004), Garam masala (released in 2005) and Taxi no 9211 (released in 2006).
The success of the film Dhoom brought him further into the limelight, with this film being the third highest-grossing film of the year and thus winning the Filmfare Award, given to the nomination for Best Performance in a Negative Role. Today, the John Abraham has won many other awards, such as the 2005 Zee Cine Award for Best Actor in a Negative Role for Dhoom, the 2005 IIFA Best Villain Award for Dhoom, and the Academy Award for Best foreign language film in the role he played in L’eau,among many others. John was born into a multi-ethnic and multi-religious family with his father, Abraham John, a Marthomite Syrian Christian from Aluva, Kerala, while his mother, Firoza Irani, is a Parsi Zoroastrian. In fact, he was named Farhan by his mother while his father named him John. Despite the differences in his family’s religious background, John considers himself to be a very religious person, but he refused to associate himself with any particular religion.
He has a younger brother named AlanAbraham and a cousin named Susy Mathew. Her father is a renowned architect, owner of the company AJ (Abraham John Architect), while her mother is a housewife.
