Joel Patrick Dommett, an English actor, novelist, comedian, and television host was born on June 8th, 1985. His television credits include Live in Chelsea, Impractical Jokers UK, I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, Joel & Nish vs. The World, and The Masked Singer UK, which he has hosted since 2020.
Dommett attended The Castle School at Thornbury and is a native of the Gloucestershire town of Rockhampton. He played five performances with the nu-metal group Psirus while still a teen. He moved to London when he was 19 years old.
Dommett had some brief acting parts prior to performing stand-up comedy, including Josh in Teenage Kicks (2008), Jonathon Hansel in Casualty (2004), and Dale in The Golden Hour (2005).
He performed his first stand-up set in a bar in Los Angeles, and since then, he has appeared in cities such as Reykjavik, Gravesend, and The Netherlands. He received the Best Newcomer title in 2008 and finished in the top three for Stand-Up Comedian of the Year.
He made a brief scene-stealing appearance as a trained soldier in the feature film The Edge of Love that same year.
