Joe Giella cause of death

Joe Giella, one of the last truly outstanding Silver Age comic book illustrators, has passed away at the age of 94. He is best known for his work on Batman, Flash, and Green Lantern.

Joe Giella, a renowned inker for Carmine Infantino and Gil Kane during their respective runs on the Silver Age reboots of Flash and Green Lantern, as well as the primary Batman inker in the 1960s when the Batman TV show exploded into Bat-Mania, has died at the age of 94, leaving the comic book world without one of the last great Silver Age artists.
Giella, an Astoria native, studied at several art institutions before beginning his career as a professional comic book illustrator for Hillman Magazines in 1946.

Joe Giella cause of death

As of right moment, Joe Giella’s cause of death is unknown. He then found work at Marvel Comics, which was then known as Timely Comics, and quickly rose to the position of staff artist.

He worked on backgrounds, edits, retouches, and other similar tasks up until roughly 1948, when he began to specialize on inking. The comic book market, however, was experiencing a bit of a sales slump by the late 1940s, and when Frank Giacoia, a friend and Timely coworker, transferred to DC, Giella quit Timely and followed him there in 1949.
