Joe Cullen, an American football coach who works for the National Football League’s Kansas City Chiefs as their defensive line coach, was born on December 15, 1967. (NFL). For the Baltimore Ravens, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Cleveland Browns, and Detroit Lions in the past, he was the defensive line coach.
Cullen played nose guard for the University of Massachusetts Amherst for four seasons, starting 45 consecutive games. In 1989, he was the Minutemen’s team MVP and was chosen for three different All-Yankee Conference teams.
With a bachelor’s in sports management from UMass, he graduated in 1990. Before taking a job coaching position, he worked there for a year as a graduate assistant.
Cullen’s first coaching position was at the University of Richmond from 1992 to 1998. In 1999, he was the defensive line coach at Louisiana State University, and in 2001, he was the defensive line coach at the University of Memphis. He was Indiana University’s defensive line coach from 2002 to 2003 before being promoted to defensive coordinator in 2004. In 2005, he attended the University of Illinois.
Cullen was hired as the Detroit Lions’ defensive line coach in 2006. Four different Lions players set career highs in sacks under Cullen.
