DMX is no more in this world

One of the most successful and soulful rappers was the first musical artist to have his first five albums on number one in the Billboard Charts passed away on the 9th April 2021, in White Plains Hospital, New York.

After suffering a heart attack triggered by a d*ug overdose at his home on the 2nd of April, DMX was admitted to hospital and was in a coma the following day.

According to the report, the loss of functionality in multiple essentials organs, including lungs, liver, and kidney, took his life.

His whole family, including his fiance Desiree Lindstrom, his ex-wife Tashera Simmons and Yadira Borrego, mother Arnett Simmons, were by his side during his last breath. He was 50 and the father of 15 children.

Parents at teenage

Joe and his partner Arnett Simmons became parents during their teenage. Joe was just 18 years old when he became the father of DMX.

Arnett was 19 when she gave birth to him. She was already a parent of her two-year-old daughter Bonita. Bonita was born to Arnett from her previous relationship.

He left his son in the hand of an abusive mother

Joe had been an absentee father and missed most of his son’s childhood. He did not want to get involved in his son’s life.

He moved to Philadelphia when DMX was just seven years old, leaving him behind in the hand of a physically abusive mother who would pour all her rage and frustration on DMX.

Growing up in poverty, DMX started robbing to survive, which later intensified, leaving him behind bars quite often.

Gradually, he became so dangerous that he could kill anyone who would mess with him. By the age of 11, he was out of control, due to which he was taken to a reform school, The Children’s Village.

During his 18 months at the school, he became good at beatboxing, and when he got out of the school, he joined hands with the local rapper, Ready Ron.

With Ready Ron, he also developed the habit of smoking c*ack, which later became an integral part of his life. In the urgency of the need for c*ack, he began to rob and steal more.

He was behind bars at the age of 14. He translated his rage into rhymes that kept him alive and gave purpose to his life. DMX, in an interview, confronted that he loved his father even if he was not there for him.

He and his wife are somewhat responsible for destroying their son

After Joe left his wife and children, she became a single mother. Instead of giving love and care, she gave them physical abuse and hate.

Their failure to be good parents destroyed their son in many ways. An innocent boy who starved for love and attention from his parents received abandonment.

He had endured the pain during his entire childhood from abusive, neglectful, and terrible mother that led him to the path of crime and addiction, the same addiction that took his life today.
