The Candian politician is being questioned concerning the act of his relative for donating to Freedom Convoy. The public has reprimanded him as the MP opposes the rally, whereas his relative is donating and showing his support.

Jodhveer Singh Dhaliwal is one of the top donors on Go Fund Me for the ongoing rally named Freedom Convoy. He is the brother-in-law of NDP Leader Jagmeet Singh.
According to GoFundMe records, he has contributed $13,000 to the organizers of the rally. In response, the MP stated that he doesn’t support a campaign with “extremist and dangerous ideas.”

He also added that he “unequivocally” opposes his brother-in-law’s decision to donate. Thus, he criticized a convoy of truckers and others who traveled to Ottawa to protest a government law that requires all cross-border drivers to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
The politician claims that some demonstrators are spreading “fake information” through “inflammatory, divisive, and hurtful comments.”
In addition, he also stated that his brother-in-law did not have a complete understanding of the rally and the group. And they have already started the process to return the donated amount.

Jodhveer Singh Dhaliwal is married to the sister of Jagmeet Singh’s wife. Thus, he is the brother-in-law of the MP. Dhaliwal is also related to Liberal MP Ruby Sahota, who represents the Brampton North riding in Ontario, writes National Post.
Previously, he was charged with assault inflicting bodily injury. The incident happened when an altercation between Sikh activists and protestors demonstrated in favor of India’s government.

The charges were later dropped, but the victim expressed his anger at the prosecution’s decision. He said that no one consulted him before making the decision, and he believed that outside forces were at play.
The victim, Yashdeep Shinde, also alleges that he felt like justice was not served.
