Jockey Mark Zahra is married to his wife Elyse. They are parents to one adorable daughter Harper Anne Zahra.
Caulfield Cup winner Mark Zahra has been banned for three months after he admitted to attending an Airbnb party last Wednesday night.
He is the fifth jockey to face the three-month ban after fellow jockeys Jamie Kah, Ben Melham, Ethan Brown, and Celine Gaudray. They were also found guilty of violating covid-19 protocols at the Airbnb party.
The stewards held an inquiry after learning of Zahra’s presence at the party, The Age reported. Zahra apparently left the party before police officers arrived at the scene.
Zahra too will face the same penalties as the other four jockeys and will have to pay a fine of more than $5,000 for breaching the covid-19 regulations.
Further, he will have to stay in isolation for 14 days and will not be able to participate in the spring carnival. His ban will start at midnight on August 28 and will expire at midnight on November 27.
