Commissioners approve Margaritaville Resort pedestrian walkway project
On Tuesday, Lee County Commissioners agreed to let the resort use county land to build a pedestrian walkway over Estero Boulevard.
FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. – The new Margaritaville Resort planned for Fort Myers Beach got the first green light it needs to get you safely to the beach. On Tuesday, Lee County Commissioners agreed to let the resort use county land to build a pedestrian walkway over Estero Boulevard.
According to Lee County, the lease agreement allows the bridge to be over the county’s roadway and to use the county’s easement. The pedestrian bridge itself still needs to go through the approval and permitting process with the town of Fort Myers Beach before it’s built.
NBC2 reached out to TPI Hospitality, the company paying for the project. We have not heard back for comment. However, Margaritaville Resort did post a comment on its Facebook page.
