Jesy Nelson is a British singer who rose to fame as a member of the Little Mix girl group. They were the first girl group to win ‘The X Factor,’ and went on to be one of the most successful girl groups of all time.
She did, however, announce her departure from the group in December 2020, claiming mental health concerns. She’s talking up about her choice a few months later, claiming she’s been a lot freer and happier since then.
Later, Jesy issued an Instagram post, claiming that the pressures of being in a girl band had impacted her mental health and justifying her choice to split up.
Recently, on Friday, the singer released her debut solo track, ‘Boyz,‘ which features Nicki Minaj. She spoke with ET about the song as well as how her mental health has improved since going solo.

The singer has made no secret of her struggles with being compared to her teammates Perrie Edwards, Leigh-Anne Pinnock, and Jade Thirlwall because of her weight.
When she auditioned for the ‘X Factor as a solo artist in 2011, Jesy was 19 years old. She walked to the stage with an enormous red T-shirt and huge curly hair. She said, starring in a TV show on body image and mental health helped her overcome her weight anxieties.
Likewise, the pop star also revealed that she wanted to ‘delete’ any memories of her younger self since she viewed her as “the overweight one from Little Mix.”
The singer recounted the online abuse she got when she was young. As a result of bullying stress, had alopecia at the age of 13. It knocked her down. She is, nevertheless, more self-assured about her appearance now.
