Jesse Morton is the former leader of Revolution Muslim.
Revolution Muslim was an organization that advocated the establishment of a traditionalist Islamic state through the removal of the current rulers in Muslim-majority nations and “Western imperialism”. He alongside Yousef Al-Khattab founded the organization in 2007. The organization is based in New York City.
They operated both on their website “RevolutionMuslim.com” and through street preaching and protests. However, the website was eventually shut down in November 2010, shortly after the arrest of one of the leaders.
By November 2013, all the organization leaders were apprehended and convicted in the US courts. Among all, he got released in 2015, Al-Khattab in 2016, and another leader is scheduled to be released in 2032.
I’m heartbroken to hear about the death of @_JesseMorton. Not sure how to process this; I’m at a total lost.
Jesse was a colleague and a friend. His story from Dead Head to Al Qaeda propagandist to counter-extremist operative and researcher is a Hollywood script waiting
