Jeremy Strong Shares Strong Family Bond With Wife Emma Wall And Three Daughters

Strong grew up in a working-class home in Boston, Massachusetts. He was ten when he moved to Sudbury with his parents and brothers. 

Jeremy’s father David Strong was a social worker who ran juvenile jails in inner-city Boston, and his mom Maureen Strong was a hospice nurse. Maureen used to take him to the African Methodist Episcopal church and ashrams.

They had to move from Boston to an affluent suburb in Sudbury because the schools they were going to were very dangerous. 

Strong is actually nothing like his character in Succession. He has caring and loving people in his life and is also a devoted father to his three young children. He has a lot more love and support in his life than Kendall has.

Jeremy married Emma in August 2016 in Denmark. They met at a party in New York during Hurricane Sandy four years earlier.

Who Is Emma Wall?

Emma is a half-Danish child psychiatrist and documentarian. She is from Denmark and graduated from the University of Oxford. She specialized in Adolescent Medicine and Psychiatry.

Wall also studied at Columbia University’s Department of Psychiatry. She completed her Child Psychiatry Fellowship and also graduated from the adult psychiatry program.

Emma was at Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior, UCLA, from 2015 to 2016. She worked with the UCLA Adult Mood Disorders Clinic, where she encouraged patients and also added value to the institution.

Emma was a part of the Max Gray Fellowship, which allowed her to hone her aptitudes in ministering to treatment-resistant mood disorders among adults.

After her fellowship ended, she co-directed a documentary on immigration.

How Did Jeremy And Emma Meet?

Jeremy met Emma on the night of Hurricane Sandy in October 2012. He lost power and strolled out into the city and then went to a mutual friend’s loft in SoHo in the middle of the hurricane at 3 am.

It was at a party, and the two surely made a great impression on one another and shortly began dating after.

The two are frequent on red carpets and have attended many award shows and movie and TV show premiers. Emma and Strong also attended the 27th Annual Critics Choice Awards at Fairmont Century Plaza in Los Angeles, California, on March 13, 2022.

The couple was at the HBO/HBO Max Emmy Nominees Reception at San Vincente Bungalows in West Hollywood, California, on September 12, 2022. They also attended the 74th Primetime Emmys at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles the same day.

Jeremy and Emma were at the 75th Annual Cannes film festival at Palais des Festivals on May 19, 2022. She stunned in a Gucci Technical Jersey dress gown, whereas he wore a matching dark tux.

They attended the 2022 Sarabande Foundation Dinner at The Standard, High Line, in New York City, on May 3, 2022. Emma was Jeremy’s date to the 60th New York Film Festival at Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center, in New York City, on October 12, 2022.

Jeremy has always been honest about his fondness for fatherhood and love for his three daughters. He and Emma are raising the kids between New York and Denmark.

All of his children were born while he was working on Succession.

Ingrid Is The Oldest Daughter

Ingrid was born in April 2018 and is currently four years old. She came into the world a month after her dad Jeremy finished filming season one of Succession.

Jeremy, Emma, and Ingrid spent about six months living and unwinding in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Clara Is The Middle Child

Clara was born in November 2019 and recently turned three years old. 

Emma and Jeremy are not on social media and are raising their daughters away from the public eye.

Agathe Is The Youngest One

Agathe was born in September 2021 and will celebrate her second birthday in 2023.

As he worked in a show about toxic paterfamilias, he managed to keep his performance and fatherhood separate. He feels that home is a source of joy and fullness and feeds you, which is quite different from Kendall, aka his character’s perception.

Jeremy’s life has changed quite a lot since having kids. He told GQ there is a sort of stable center he never had before. His life was always filled with work, and now there is something to come home to.

Strong believes in privacy and keeps his home life confidential. He has talked about his kids in interviews and never fails to acknowledge that he is grateful for their presence in his life.

Strong and his partner Emma have homes in Brooklyn and Copenhagen, and they bought a summer house in Tisvilde during the pandemic.

Jeremy has admitted to struggling with work-life balance. He told The New Yorker that he doesn’t know if he even believes in balance and added that he believes in extremity. He thinks Emma feels a sort of energy shift in him while he plays Kendall Roy on Succession.

Emma, however, said that Strong does an excellent job of maintaining what he is doing and creating a space for home and everyday life. She believes that he has already mastered the art of balancing parenting duties and his acting career.

While talking to The Guardian, Jeremy spoke about his love for Denmark. He finds it a peaceful and sane place. He added that it feels like a refuge to him and is like a docking station after all the stressful and enervating work.

Strong does not know how to speak Danish. He blamed his almost pathological lack of curiosity about most things for it.

Sam Gold, the theater director, believes that meeting Emma and having kids has changed Jeremy for the better. He told GQ the actor was so into his work and art-making that there was barely any room in his life for anything else.

Jeremy was previously living quite a rigorous and ascetic life, and meeting his partner really transformed him into the best actor he could be. Sam added that he is a great dad and a partner, and it is nice to see other things in his life taking priority.

Strong feels like having those three beautiful children is the one thing he has done right in his life. They also saved him from being a total workaholic.
