Jenny Slate Parents: Who Are Jenny Slate’s Parents?

Jenny Sarah Slate was born on March 25, 1982, and is an American actor, stand-up comedian, producer, and author. Slate was born and raised in Milton, Massachusetts, attended Milton Academy, and then studied literature at Columbia University. She became involved in the improv and comedy scenes while there.

Slate’s breakout performance came in the coming-of-age comedy-drama film Obvious Child (2014), for which she was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award and a Gotham Independent Film Award, as well as winning the Critics’ Choice Movie Award for Best Actress in a Comedy.

She and Gabe Liedman started the comic duo, Gabe & Jenny. Their stand-up performances with Max Silvestri, “Big Terrific,” were named the best new variety show of 2008 by Time Out New York. Due to their busy schedules, Slate, Liedman, and Silvestri ended the program in 2015; nevertheless, they have occasionally worked together since then.

Slate first met Liedman in 2000 while a student at Columbia University. Slate compares them to Elaine Benes and George Costanza with the exception that they are in a romantic relationship, which they refer to as a “nonsexual romance.” Slate frequently performed her solo show, Jenny Slate: Dead Millionaire, at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre (UCBT) in New York City in 2008 and 2009.
