Jennifer Lopez Parents
The star was born to Puerto Rican parents, who lived in the Bronx and were named Guadalupe Rodríguez and David Lopez. Their family was relatively poor, her father had worked night shifts at the Guardian Insurance Company before becoming a computer technician with the company, while her mother was a housewife.
Originally, when Jennifer expressed her intention to get into show business, her parents thought it was nonsense. She was homeless for a while, when she was 18, because she hit her mother.
‘My mum and I butted heads, I didn’t want to go to college – I wanted to try dancing full time. So she and I took a break, she said. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told him, this is what I have to do. »
Despite this, the star says she appreciates how she learned that she learned the work ethic she hoped to pass on to her children. She said: “I think a lot about teaching my kids to work hard. I learned something about children – they don’t do what you say; they do what you do, I looked at my parents. My father worked nights and I was aware of all he did for us. »
She added: “My mum was a Tupperware woman and also worked at the school. I always felt that I couldn’t let them down. And I had a natural discipline from the start. I was always training for something.
So we think she’s not shy about saying she has a good relationship with her parents, although the two aren’t currently together.
