Jennie Garth Parents: Meet Carolyn Garth and John Garth

Jennie Garth co-starred as Valerie Tyler in the WB sitcom What I Like About You in 2002, with Amanda Bynes. She stayed on the show for all four seasons, which focused on the Tyler sisters’ and their friends’ interactions and experiences.

She appeared as a journalist in television movies such as The Last Cowboy and the Christmas family drama Secret Santa in 2003. Garth and the Secret Santa cast won the CAMIE Award in 2004.

In 2005, she voiced Kelly Taylor from Beverly Hills, 90210 and another character in Family Guy Presents Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, notably in the episode section “Bango Was His Name-Oh!”

Her performance garnered her a Prism Award, as did Andrea Bowen’s from the show Desperate Housewives. Garth also competed in the fifth season of Dancing with the Stars in 2007, reaching the semi-finals with her partner Derek Hough.

Garth resumed her role as Kelly Taylor in the launch of The CW’s spin-off series 90210 in September 2008. Kelly Taylor was a guidance counselor at the fictional West Beverly High, where her half-sister Erin Silver went.

Kelly appeared again as a character with a four-year-old son, the father of whom is her ex-boyfriend Dylan McKay. The authors wanted to include moments with Garth and her former Beverly Hills, 90210 co-star Shannen Doherty, who played Brenda Walsh again.
