Her father, Alan Stein, is a psychoanalyst with a private practice based in New York. While his mother worked as a music editor, managing artists like U2, Rodgers & Hammerstein, and Leiber & Stoller.
When he was two years old, his parents divorced, however, there is no information about their separation. Her father later remarried Gale Greenberg, who is also a psychotherapist in New York.
