Early Life and Online Beginnings

Jeff grew up in St. Louis, and at a young age became fascinated by automobiles. He enjoyed finding out the finer details about cars, especially race cars and new models. This love for vehicles expanded even further, as he learned more about flying vehicles such as airplanes. Sometime in 2009, during the early years of YouTube he discovered the website, and pondered on the possibility of a career on the site. The video-sharing website is one of the most popular in the world, sporting one of the highest traffics of any site online.

It has become the stepping stone and for many, a career, making videos for the entertainment of others. When he created his channel, his primary passion was with the guitar, and he thought about doing guitar instructional videos. He uploaded videos sporadically, but he also had another interest, simulation games. He loved flying simulation games in particular, as it allowed him to fly real planes despite not having enough training or qualifications to be a pilot.

Gaming Channel Transition – Grand Theft Auto V

While Favignano maintained a more niche following on his channel, things changed sometime in 2013 following the release of the video game “Grand Theft Auto V”.

The Rockstar Games hit is a sequel to 2008’s “Grand Theft Auto IV”, and is set in the fictional state of San Andreas which is inspired by Southern California. In the game, players take control of three criminals who begin working together performing various heists, while an overarching story develops between them, the government, and other crime figures.

The game which was widely anticipated did not disappoint, becoming the fastest-selling of its kind in history. Within the first three days, it earned over $1 billion and universal critical acclaim for its design, presentation, gameplay, and its continued development of the open-world genre.

However, like many “Grand Theft Auto” games, it featured a lot of violence, and drew controversy regarding its depiction of women. It did not stop it dominating during its year, however, becoming the Game of the Year, and one of the most successful products of all time. Jeff immediately fell in love with the game and like many others began to discover that there was a lot more that could be done with it.

Modding and Roleplay

Grand Theft Auto was expansive, a sandbox, and featured many possibilities among ‘modders’, responsible for creating additional fan-made content for the game. With many people learning more about gaming code and development, additional content to the game expanded its capability.

Rockstar encouraged this, and even created an online version of the game which people could play together. One of the niches that came out of this continuous evolution of “Grand Theft Auto V” was a group of roleplayers – these people would take on normal social roles such as taxi drivers, policemen, ambulance drivers, criminals, and many more, and servers were created online, dedicated to this community.

The modding community was also very passionate about bringing realism to the game, and started featuring real-life cars, police vehicles, and many other items. Favignano became a very steady roleplay-focused gamer on YouTube, and to his surprise, a lot of people enjoyed that content.

One of his most popular series is LSPDFR, or Los Santos Police Department Full Roleplay. In this series, he takes on the role of a police officer, and uses mods to try out different police vehicles as well as police outfits.

What makes him very effective in these types of videos is his ability to roleplay the character he’s been given. He plays the police officer role very well, and does his best to respond realistically to all the situations he encounters. This led to more roleplay videos, with him testing out new content given by modders. Another popular show he started is called DOJ, in which he roleplays as one of the dogs in Los Santos, sometimes collaborating with other YouTubers who are also hardcore roleplayers.

Other Content

Jeff started playing other roleplaying games which his audience continued to enjoy, including “American Truck Simulator”, in which players take on the roles of truck drivers of large trucks carrying packages across the US. A lot of people also enjoyed the fact that he could roleplay the driver well, and his reactions, as well as his entertaining topics while in the role, continued to build his following. To add to the realism, he began investing in equipment that would help him simulate driving, such as pedals and a steering wheel.

He also continued his love for airplane simulators, playing games such as “X-Plane 11”. He often demonstrates new plane models, and showcases how planes can be flown, as these simulator games are realistic.

Other than post videos, he also found an alternative form of income through streaming on Twitch. He streams regularly, and loves interacting with his fans.

Personal Life

It is known that Jeff is in a relationship with make-up artist Nicole Bird. The two often collaborate together, with Nicole also doing roleplay content in some of his videos. The two often portray characters as they roleplay in “Grand Theft Auto”. In 2017, the couple announced that they were engaged, but it is not known if they’ve officially married. During his free time, Jeff enjoys testing out race cars and automobiles – he often goes to race tracks with friends, and keeps up to date with the latest developments in the automotive industry.
