Jeff Doucet is the man who abducted an 11-year-old boy, Jody Plauche in early 1984.
He had been sexually molesting the child long before he resorted to kidnapping.
Jeff was a karate instructor and Jody was one of his students. Jeff was idolized by his students and Jody became fast friends with him.
However, Jeff started to molest him and sleep with him during karate trips. Eventually, he resorted to rape and sexually assaulted him almost every day.

Jeff Doucet was due to go to trial for passing bad checks on Feb. 19, 1984.
So, he decided to run away and kidnapped Jody from his house under the pretext of running an errand. Jeff brought the young boy to California, where he first stopped at his mother’s house.
Then, he traveled to New Mexico, Arizona, and finally reached Anaheim. During his captivity, Jeff heavily assaulted Jody.
Finally, after a week, Jeff Doucet was arrested on February 29 from Los Angeles and charged with aggravated kidnapping.
The FBI traced his location after he called Jody’s mother. He was then extradited to Louisiana on Match 16.
However, Jody’s father, Gary Plauche, was not the man to sit idle. He decided to punish the man himself for what he did to his young son.
Thus, on the day Jeff was brought back to Louisiana, Gary disguised himself with a baseball cap and sunglasses and went to the Barton Rouge airport.
Many news outlets were present at the scene. When Jeff landed and passed Gary at the airport, he turned towards him, took out his gun, and shot Jeff through the right ear.
Jeff did not die on the spot but later succumbed to his injuries.

After Jeff Doucet’s death, Gary Plauche’s son, Jody was not pleased with his activity.
Jody said he did not want Jeff dead. He was getting arrested and punished according to the law, and that was enough for the young child.
Gary was a protective father and would always say that he’d kill anyone who hurt his son. Jody was aware his father was not kidding, which is why he did not immediately reveal what Jeff was doing to him.
However, Gary said he did not regret his actions. Also, he did not plead guilty to a manslaughter charge and was not sentenced to prison.
Gary received a 7-year suspension, five years of probation, and some community service.
