As a member of the Los Angeles Anacondas and the final IFL Welterweight Champion, Hieron has also fought in the UFC, WEC, Affliction, Strikeforce, and Bellator. At the age of 8, John and Theo Hieronymous adopted him.

Hieron won both the Lockdown in Paradise in Lahaina, Hawaii, in March 2006 and the IFL Team Championships in Atlantic City, New Jersey, in June 2006.

Hieron joined Affliction in August 2008 after the International Fight League was disbanded due to financial issues. Unfortunately, that endorsement also failed to last long, thus Hieron joined Strikeforce.

On January 30, 2010, at Strikeforce: Miami, Hieron faced Joe Riggs. Hieron prevailed by unanimous judgment in the match. Hieron’s contract with Strikeforce expired after the bout, which led him to ask for the demand that he signs a new one right afterward. A shot at the champion Nick Diaz and assured television exposure was among the demands.
