He is known professionally as Jax Taylor but Jason Michael Cauchi was born on July 11, 1979. He was born and raised in Shelby Township, Oceana County, Michigan. His mother, Marie, is from Australia, while his father, Ronald Cauchi, is from Malta. He grew up alongside a brother, a sister named Jenny Lynn. Taylor attended Eisenhower High School in Shelby Township and graduated in 1998. He originally enrolled at Michigan State University for further education, but eventually left the Navy.
