Speaking of her career, Jamila began her career at NTV as a news editor and anchor in 2002 and has since then been named the longest-serving news anchor at the Nation Media House. There, she read the 7 PM news in Kiswahili. She was then made the Managing Editor at the station’s sister station, QTV Kenya in 2015 until its closure and was then made the Manager of Programming and Content Developer at NTV Kenya until her exit in 2018.
Jamila’s live announcement of her presenting her last bulletin at the station- Wednesday’s NTV Jioni, shook her fans, viewers, and colleagues as they took to social media to express their feeling and how much they will miss the anchor and wish her well. Jamila’s exit comes less than two weeks after NTV’s Managing Editor Linus Kaikai also quit the station.
