James Allen Mangold is a well-known American director who was born on December 16, 1963. His notable works include Cop Land (1997), Girl, Interrupted (1999), Walk the Line (2005), 3:10 to Yuma (2007), The Wolverine (2013), and Logan.
For his critically praised movie Logan, he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. For his efforts on the sports drama Ford v Ferrari, which he both produced and directed in 2019, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Picture.
Mangold also directed and co-wrote the next film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which is scheduled for release in 2023.
Early in 2022, it was revealed that Mangold would helm a Buster Keaton biopic based on Marion Meade’s book Buster Keaton: Cut to the Chase. The company was looking for authors to turn the novel into a screenplay that Mangold could helm.
The Hollywood Reporter reported in February 2023 that James Gunn and Peter Safran’s “Chapter One: Gods and Monsters” film slate included a movie based on the DC Comics character Swamp Thing and that Mangold was in the early stages of negotiations to helm it.
The release of this film is anticipated to follow James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biographical and the Indiana Jones film.
