James Blunt is an English singer, songwriter and record producer who has become widely popular around the world for his songs such as You’re Beautiful. Best known for his soft rock and pop rock genre, Blunt has been nominated for five Grammy Awards so far in his career and has gone on to win many more while selling millions of copies worldwide.

Although better known by his stage name, the soft rock singer was born James Hillier Blount on February 22, 1974 in England, in Tidworth, Hampshire.
For his preparatory studies, he attended the Elstree School from where he moved to Harrow School. Then the singer went to the University of Bristol, where he studied sociology. He also studied as a pilot in the footsteps of his father.
After graduating from university, Blunt went to Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, where he underwent military training. This is because he had at least four years of compulsory service in the army, since his education was financed by the military scholarship. He served from 1996 to 2002.
