On January 9th, 1985, James William Acaster was born in Kettering. He went to Montagu Secondary School and Northampton College for his music education. He worked as a teaching assistant at a school for kids with autism after completing his studies.
In his spare time, he started doing stand-up comedy. Acaster played the drums in several bands in his city before he entered the comedy world, including The Wow! Scenario and the Capri-Sun Quartet.
When he was a member of the latter, he went by the stage name Sir William Strawberry. Acaster made the decision to pursue comedy while deciding what he actually wanted to accomplish when The Wow! Scenario broke up.
Stand in the Star: A Verse and a Chorus is an album that The Wow! Scenario recorded in 2007, but it was never made public.
The album hasn’t been published yet despite Acaster’s announcement in 2017 that he and the band would work together once more to finish it and release it the following year.
