Jake Abel Biography
Jake was born on November 18, 2014 as Jacob Allen Abel.1987, in Canton, Ohio, son of Kim and Mike Abel. Abel has a brother named Scott. As a child, Abel was homeschooled by his mother Kim. He is of German, Swiss German and English descent.
As a child, Abel started acting in commercials. After graduating from high school, he started acting professionally in 2005. He started his career by appearing in three episodes of the TV series Threshold. Also in 2005, Abel had a role in the Disney Channel Original Go Movie figure. He went on to star in other Disney productions, including an episode of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody.
He also appeared in episodes of Cold Case and CSI: Miami. In 2008 he had a small role in Strange Wilderness and appeared in the independent film Tru Loved. Abel also had a role in Flash of Genius for which he was recognized at the Rising Star Award at the 16th Hamptons International Film Festival.
He appeared in The Lovely Bones, a film adapted from Alice Sebold’s novel. He appeared in the 2009 web series, Angel of Death. From 2009 to 2010, Abel had the recurring role of Adam Milligan/Michael on Supernatural.
Abel would have the biggest breakthrough of his career in 2010 when he landed the role of Luke Castellan in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. His role earned him an MTV Movie Award for Best Fight and a Teen Choice Award for Best Fight.
He reprized his role in the 2013 sequel, PercyJackson: Sea of Monsters. Abel starred in the 2011 teen crime film I Am Number Four. Despite negative reviews from critics, the film managed to pull in three times its budget from the worldwide box office.
Abel portrayed Ian O’Shea in the 2013 romance film The Host, a sci-fi thriller film, is an adaptation of the eponymous Twilight novel by Stephenie Meyer. Abel’s other films include: Against the Sun (2014), Good Kill (2014), Love and Mercy (2014) and Almost Friends (2016). Over the past few years, Jake Abel has slowed down his acting. However, he was spotted at the 2018 Golden Globes presentation and also made it to the after party.
Relationship with Selena Gomez
There have been searches online about Selena Gomez’s relationship to a certain Abel, however, is not Jake but Abel Tesfaye, better known by his stage name The Weeknd. Selena and Abel started dating in January 2017, but broke up in October 2017, a few weeks after moving in together.

Allie Wood whom he has known since they were teenagers. Some of her works include Color Me Olsen (2007) and Anna Dressed in Blood, Alone (2009). She is also the editor of Style File Daily. The couple got engaged on New Year’s Eve in Times Square, New York.
According to the People’s Representative, Abel and Wood’s wedding was a romantic one, held in New Orleans, and of course, a marching band was involved. Wood wore a strapless Monique Lhuillier dress while Abel looked dressed in a Prada suit.
