Template: a number of problems Jacqueline Malouf was born on July 3, 1941, in New York City, and died on October 12, 1999, in Los Angeles. Malouf was born in the California city of Los Angeles. Most notably, she is remembered for her portrayal as Leilani Dedham, the hereditary princess of Haleakaloha, the fictitious island country shown in the 1963 John Ford film Donovan’s Reef. Furthermore, she had an uncredited part as Lietta Appleyard in The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance (1962), as well as guest appearances on Petticoat Junction and The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet, among other shows. It was in 1966 that she received her last film credit. The fact that she was a student at the University of Southern California at the time of production allowed her to portray a teenager in Donovan’s Reef. She graduated from USC in 1963, having served as vice president of the Associated Student Body during her time there. She would go on to serve on the board of advisors at the University of Southern California School of Nursing. The next year, she married Andrew Nassir and left the entertainment industry the following year, going on to become a teacher in the Los Angeles Unified School District and subsequently at a Montessori school. She also pursued her ambition to become an artist, and she is most recognised for her seascape paintings in the French Impressionistic style. She and Andrew had two sons and a granddaughter at the time of her death, when she was 58 years old. She died of leukaemia at La Jolla, California, where she lived. Jacqueline Malouf Nassir is not to be mistaken with the Canadian-born cookbook author Jacqui Malouf, who is also named Jacqueline Malouf.
