Jacob Panetta and Jordan Subban Racist Gesture: What Did The Jacksonville Icemen Player Say?
During an ECHL game on Saturday, defenseman Jordan Subban alleged he was targeted by a racial gesture by a Jacksonville Icemen player.
Fighting broke out early in the overtime phase of this game between the Icemen and the South Carolina Stingrays. On Twitter, PK Subban’s brother, who claims he was attacked by Jacob Panetta in the back, sought to clear the air.
“Panetta was too scared to fight me and started making monkey signals as soon as my back was turned, so I struck him in the face a few times and he withdrew like the coward he is,” Subban wrote.
Jordan Subban Racist Gesture: Is Jacob Panetta Being Charged?
This event occurs only one day after a player from the San Jose Barracuda of the American Hockey League was given a 30-game suspension for a similar crime performed against Quebecer Bokondji Imama.
Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time Subban has been attacked. In 2019, while playing in Austria, he was interrupted in the middle of a match by monkey cries.
Many of Subban’s fans are outraged by the racial claims and are expressing their love and support for the player himself.
Furthermore, Jordan’s followers demand a harsher sentence, believing that 30 days of the ban is insufficient for a bigot.
