The UVM men’s basketball team has grown accustomed to playing an extremely difficult, taxing non-conference schedule over the past few years. That sentiment will not change during the 2019-20 athletics season for the Catamounts. Vermont Head Coach John Becker confirmed UVM will pay a visit to perennial Atlantic Coast Conference power Virginia and the Big East’s St. John’s as part of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Classic in November.

Becker confirmed the upcoming road games during Wednesday’s season-ending media availability following Vermont’s 76-69 loss to Florida State in the NCAA tournament’s first round last week. Becker also confirmed UVM will visit St. Bonaventure, Bucknell, Northeastern and Ivy League schools Yale, Harvard, and Dartmouth as part of the Catamounts’ non-conference road schedule. Vermont will play two games against mid-major schools at Mohegan Sun as part of the Hall of Fame Tip-Off.

Those two games will come against either Central Connecticut State, Rider or Columbia. The home portion of UVM’s non-conference schedule will feature games against Lipscomb, Boston University, Towson and George Washington, Becker confirmed. Becker also said UVM will look to add one additional game against a high-major program before the season begins. Vermont finished its 2018-19 non-conference schedule with a 10-4 record.
