Jacinta Price Ended Up Her Marriage Because of Domestic Violence

Senator Jacinta Price of the Northern Territory brought up the horrific levels of domestic abuse that Aboriginal women and children endure in her opening remarks. She was propelled to work for this cause by a mysterious power.

She is a senator and was a victim of Domestic Violence. Despite sharing a significant time and having three children with her husband, she had to end the relationship because he was violating her. This politician is very committed to working for the rights and issues of Aboriginals.

For many years, Jacinta and her mother, former NT Government Minister Bess Price, have promoted the need for constructive cultural change and the opposition to domestic abuse.

Jacinta has worked with several programs to empower young Indigenous children, girls, and women through television platforms, visual art, music, women’s AFL, and local government.

Jacinta, in an interview, shared that she ran to the next neighbor’s house and begged them to contact the police while covered in blood and wearing nightclothes sticking to her flesh in the oppressive heat.

2008, Darwin, 7 a.m. Price was running for her life five months into a new relationship, the first since divorcing the father of her three children and high school sweetheart. A lamp was violently thrown at her during the incident, causing a wound that needed six stitches.

As Price recounts, “I glanced at my hand, and it was covered in blood, and the blood was flowing down my shoulder.” She ran to save her life. It is scary to listen; Pirce went through this and raised her voice against this, which is remarkable.
