The Nara resident surrendered after firing two shots at Abe, eventually hitting the chest of the ex-Prime Minister. The police seized Yamagami and his weapon, and the investigation is going on.
As reported by BBC, he is a former member of Japan’s Maritime Self-Defense Force, Japan’s equivalent of a navy. He said that he was disappointed with Abe, so, he killed him.
