Is Omar Apollo coming to Australia?

Omar Apollo started his music career by independently producing and posting his tracks to the DIY streaming service SoundCloud. He was working at Jimmy John’s and Guitar Center while residing in an attic.

He put his song “Ugotme” on Spotify in 2017 with just $30 borrowed from a friend, and it immediately became popular after being added to the Fresh Finds playlist. In just one day, the song received 20,000 streams, and it finally reached 15 million streams.

Apollo’s debut EP, Stereo, which was well-received by critics, was published in 2018. The “Want Tour” and the “Voyager Tour” were the two tours that he performed after that in 2018 and 2019.

Friends, his second EP, was released in April 2019 and was produced by rock producer John Shanks, who has previously worked with musicians including Michelle Branch and Melissa Etheridge. Dylan Shanks, Shanks’ son, managed Apollo after they connected on Twitter in July 2017.
