Is Marc Almond still alive?

MARC Almond is one of music’s survivors.

The 64-year-old has been successful for 40 years and is about to take his 80s band Soft Cell back on the road.

But the Covid pandemic and his brush with death in 2004, when he was left in a coma for a month after a motorbike accident, have made him want to live life at the moment.

He said: “These days I treat every album like it’s my last and concerts too because the way the world is, you never know what’s around the corner and we’re not getting any younger.”

While he found lockdown “difficult and frustrating”, the Soft Cell singer thinks older folk like himself still take risks in life and reckoned younger people can be “constricted, conservative and boring”.

Where does Marc Almond live now?

The duo recorded four albums; their No 1 single, Tainted Love, received a Brit award. His latest album is Shadows And Reflections and he is currently touring the UK. He lives alone in London.
