Laverne Cox has never been afraid to talk about her transition.
The Orange Is the New Black actress, 31, began the procedure in her twenties in New York City, describing the experience as “totally different” from Caitlyn Jenner’s extremely public transition.
Though she’s been outspoken about the challenges that trans women face, she’s never really opened up about what that experience was like for her on a personal level – until now.
Looking back on this point in her life, she remembers a “very attractive young woman experiencing it.”
However, she acknowledges that she was overcompensating since she wasn’t yet satisfied with her looks – mostly because of how others treated her.

Where Is Laverne Cox Now/Today?
As of right now, there have not been many updates about her.
Well, two years ago, she attracted attention from fans when she became a victim of a transphobic attack.
In a live Instagram video, Cox, 48, revealed that she and a male companion were strolling earlier that day in Griffith Park in Los Angeles when a man “quite forcefully” asked for the time.
Cox’s companion informed him of the time, at which point the guy inquired, “Guy or girl?”
Her buddy, realizing the man was talking to Cox, ordered him to “(expletive) off,” and the man began beating her.
The actress and her companion, who wished to remain nameless, felt the man wanted Cox to answer his questions for him to determine “if I’m trans or not.”
Cox claimed she took out her phone to contact 911, but “all of a sudden, it’s done, and the person is gone,” so she didn’t.
