What Happened To Konstantin Kudryavtsev?
Konstantin Kudryavtsev is the man behind the poisoning of Alexei Navalny and is also a well-known Putin critic. He graduated from the Military Biological-Chemical Academy and worked at the Ministry of Defense’s 42nd (Biological Warfare Defense) Institute afterward.
During a 49-minute phone chat, Kudryavtsev revealed disturbing details about how the opposition leader’s attack was carried out. The spy had no idea that the top FSB officer he was speaking with was actually Navalny himself.
Navalny, posing as “Ustinov Maxim Sergeevich,” questioned Kudryavtsev about why the poisoning scheme failed. His underwear were contaminated with novichok while he was out of his hotel room, according to Kudryavtsev.
On March 3, 2018, double spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned with a Soviet-era nerve toxin in Salisbury. The “outcome would have been different” if the jet had not been diverted to Omsk, where Navalny’s life was saved by paramedics, according to Kudryavtsev.
