Katherine McNamara was born in Kansas City, Missouri, the only child of veteran parents Evan and Ursula McNamara. She spent her early years in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, before relocating to Los Angeles, California, in 2011.
McNamara has shown off her singing skills throughout her career by lending her voice to songs that have been played in movies and television shows in which she has appeared. One well-known example is when she wrote the song “Chatter” and sang it in the film Contest.
She was also prominently featured in the music video that accompanied the song. The main character in the movie Little Savages sings the song “My Heart Can Fly,” which was written and performed by McNamara, at a talent event.
She also sang “Stay True,” from R.L. Stine’s Monsterville: Cabinet of Souls, and “Wait for You,” from the drama film A Sort of Homecoming’s closing credits.
In addition, her song “Ember” was played during episode 20 of Shadowhunters’ second season.
McNamara provides the voice of singer Sally Jessup in the animated Christmas episode of the Dreamworks television series Spirit Riding Free titled “Spirit of Christmas,” which was released on Netflix in December 2019. She also provided vocals for a few of the musical selections in the special.
Is Katherine McNamara a genius?
Although Katherine McNamara has demonstrated talent and competence in her playing roles, it would be unfair to label her a genius based only on her acting experience. It’s important to note that “genius” is a highly individualized phrase whose definition changes based on the situation.
