Jordan Pouncey, a third-year wide receiver from Winter Park, Fla, has appeared in 12 games for the Longhorns, and yes, he is related to the Pouncey Twins.
Jordan Pouncey, when he chose Texas as a three-star wideout with an outstanding offer list back in 2017, was a highly-touted recruit in his own right, and his high school highlights have little to scoff at — even if his scoffing at the coaching staff was part of the reason he didn’t end up at Florida.
The older Pouncey, on the other hand, didn’t accomplish much at Texas, tallying just a couple of catches for 19 yards this season as well as having no statistical impact the previous two years.
If he does contribute on the field at Florida, it will be the first time he has done so in his collegiate career.
Jordan Pouncey is related to those Pouncey twins, the powerful lineman combination of Maurkice and Mike who shone for the Gators in the late 2000s — yet despite being cousins, the young Pounceys have to meet their NFL experienced relatives.
On Sunday, the couple revealed their desire to reconnect in Florida in 2020 in a video made by Zach Abolverdi. Ethan is most likely the more valuable of the two at the time.
After a lengthy recruiting process that included Auburn, Alabama, and Texas, the four-star from Winter Park will boost a Florida secondary that is expected to lose one or both of junior corners Marco Wilson and CJ Henderson to the NFL Draft in 2020.
