He stated that he was not pushed to leave Sky by his superiors but that he had taken the decision independently.
His departure follows the dramatic firings of Phil Thompson, Charlie Nicholas, and Matt Le Tissier from the program last year.

Jeff Stelling is a husband and father. He is currently married to Liz Stelling. In November 1998, after dating for a time, they exchanged marriage vows.
In Richmond upon Thames, the wedding ceremony took place. They’ve been happily married ever then, with no significant disagreements.
The couple has three children together. Robbie, Matthew, and Olivia are their names.
