Israel Matseke Zulu is a South African actor, poet, singer, and dancer who is best known for playing GP in the SABC1 drama series Gaz’lam from 2002 to 2005.

The aspiring actor is rumored to be dead, however, we assume the news to be just a hoax.

Is Israel Matseke Zulu Still Alive Or Dead?

Israel Matseke Zulu is rumored to be dead, however, there is not enough evidence to support the statement. People are paying tribute to South Africa’s greatest actor on social media.

However, we believe he is still alive and healthy, but we must wait for confirmation or denial of the story. Since his previous posts revealed no signs of illness or disease, we cannot say anything for sure.

On May 7, 2022, he was celebrating the South African Youth Movement’s twentieth anniversary. At 09:45 a.m., Zulu and Boikhutso Masipa joined the interview on MorningLives SABC.

Furthermore, after a seven-year fight with gangrene that resulted in the amputation of his left leg, veteran actor Zulu is on the mend.

The actor stated to TshisaLIVE that he had no idea he had gangrene for all those years since it only got worse last year while he was filming Mzansi Magic’s serial Gomora.

The iconic actor claimed that he visited many physicians but that none of them could figure out what the problem was.

He became severely unwell when working on Gomora in 2021, from March to August. “By August, I was in excruciating agony and couldn’t move, but my disease had started six to seven years prior,” he stated.

Israel claims that if his disease had been detected sooner, he would not have needed an amputation. He was in agonizing pain for days, describing it as “an electric charge on both feet” with anguish going up to his heart.

He went to a gangrene expert in Springs, who advised him that gangrene starts in the toes and spreads throughout the leg if left untreated.

“I’ve been held up by inexperienced doctors who couldn’t detect what was going on.” I was meant to cut only the big [toe] so they could end it there, but the procedure was delayed, so I was advised to cut on the leg, either below or above the knee.”

Rob Ferreira Hospital in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, performed the amputation on the TV celebrity. “My prestige, my art will never be matched by anyone,” the 46-year-old said of his confidence after losing his leg.
