Amber Heard’s friend iO Tillett Wright uses male pronouns to describe his gender and proudly represents the transgender community.
Amber Heard recently came out saying that her ex-partner Johnny Depp mistreated her trans friend Io Tillet Wright. This has now started a new sensational topic on the internet where people are discussing the fellow American writer’s sexuality and his side of the story.
Did Johny really mock a transgender? Let’s get into the details including more about the author Wright.
Amber Heard Friend iO Tillett Wright Gender & Pronouns
Activist and artist iO Tillett Wright describes his unconventional childhood in his new novel, Darling Days, which begins over thirty years ago in the untamed East Village.
“In the 1980s and 1990s, the East Village was a crazy area,” says iO, who is known for his project Self-Evident Truths, in which he is shooting 10,000 people (including Lily-Rose Depp) who identify somewhere on the LGBTQ spectrum.
After Darling Days was published, iO came out as transgender to celebrate his genuine self. In an interview, he stated that he believes there should be numerous labels for genders so that individuals may identify with their spot on the spectrum, and that there should always be the option to modify it as needed.
However, in the particular book, Wright’s pronouns are still referred to as ‘she’ but later that changed as iO liked being called out as a man. This is what he thinks should be normalized.
iO Tillett Wright Testimony On Johnny Depp Trial
Amber Heard revealed that her friend, iO Tillett Wright, was verbally abused by her ex-husband, Johnny Depp, during her evidence on Monday in her defense in the defamation case brought by Depp.
Heard described an instance in which she said Depp abused Wright during a fight and called him many transphobic slurs as the pair’s famed defamation trial entered its sixth week.
She also mentioned her pal iO Tillett Wright’s reported encounter with Johnny Depp. When Depp reportedly threw a phone against her face, she subsequently supplied the accounts. During Depp’s 2020 libel trial against The Sun, the Aquaman star made similar charges.
Who Is iO Tillett Wright?
Wright is a photographer that focuses on portraying LGBTQ+ themes through his photographs, as well as the author of Darling Days: A Memoir. In his memoir, the 36-year-old New Yorker chronicled his life as a transgender and gender-neutral person.
He is most known, though, for co-hosting the MTV program Suspect alongside Nev Schulman. Since 2016, the actor, podcaster, and activist have presented the show.
