Howie Mandel aka Howard Michael Mandel is a Canadian comedian, game show presenter, screenwriter, actor, producer, director, entrepreneur, and author.
Since January 2010, he has served as a judge on ABC’s America’s Got Talent. He took over for David Hasselhoff.
Mandel presently has the longest tenure of any judge or presenter on the show, spanning thirteen straight seasons (season 5-present).

No, Howie Mandel is not leaving AGT, he is just taking some sick leave for the time being. His fans were concerned after Howie was absent from his judging panel seat next to Heidi Klum for several episodes of AGT.
But, before fans panic, there is a simple reason. Host Terry Crews explained why we wouldn’t see Mandel right before Urbancrew entered the stage during Week 3 with their gravity-defying act(NBC).
Crews explained that the comic became ill during production because of a minor adjustment in the show’s guidelines.
“Howie Mandel isn’t feeling well today, so he won’t be joining us,” stated Crews. “Since Howie isn’t present, two ‘yeses’ will allow the Act to proceed, and three Red Buzzers will end your Act.”
So we may exhale with satisfaction that Mandel’s absence is just brief. If you were to ask Simon Cowell what happened to his fellow Judge, he could blame Sofia Vergara.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show in May, the AGT executive producer joked that his broken arm was due to the Modern Family actress.

“Since Sofia entered the show, we’ve all had accidents one after the other,” Cowell said, calling her an “assassin.”
“When Sofia arrived the first year we met, the next day I was unwell,” Klum explained.
Vergara joined in the fun, denying any wrongdoing. “I don’t believe that because nothing has happened to me,” she exclaimed, laughing. “I haven’t received COVID in two years. Not a single time.”

What Happened To Howie Mandel?
Howie Mandel is ill and still recovering from the disease which he has not disclosed. It might be Covid or another ailment since he recently joked about being in a germ-free zone on Twitter.
He posted a photoshopped photo of himself in space with the caption, “No Germs In Space.” Given his recent amusing tweets and AGT updates on Twitter, we can presume he is recovering and will be back in no time.
Furthermore, since the auditions are pre-taped prior to the commencement of the Live Shows, Howie has since recovered from whatever ailment he was suffering from.
He is able to demonstrate his sense of humor on Tuesday night by tweeting: “Sorry everyone, can you cover for me tonight?”
He also expressed his dissatisfaction with not being able to watch Travis Japan on AGT live.
Howie Mandel Illness And Health Update 2022
Howie Mandel was suffering from some type of ailment, which caused him to miss AGT, but based on his tweets, he appears to be in fine condition.
He could have begun recording the upcoming episodes, which we’ll see in the following days.
Besides this, Mandel has opened up about his OCD(Distractify). In a March 2022 piece for ADDitude: Inside the ADHD Mind, Howie revealed how he has lived his entire life with obsessive-compulsive disorder (as well as ADHD and anxiety).
“When I was growing up in the 1960s, my symptoms didn’t have a name, and you didn’t go to the doctor to find out. In my instance, they were known as Howie Mandel “who created the comic.
Howie, like many neurodivergent people, learned to integrate his symptoms into his daily existence. He not only included them in his comedy, but he discovered that they may occasionally be a benefit, such as when he hosted Deal or No Deal.
He had problems sitting still, but Howie wasn’t “trapped behind a pedestal reading trivia questions” on Deal or No Deal.
Howie mentions in the post that treating his symptoms is a “lifelong commitment,” and that what works for him may not work for someone else.
Finding the appropriate therapy resembles scientific research more than anything else. It takes a lot of trial and error to figure out what works. But don’t give up.
