She was born in South Bend but grew up in Buchanan, Michigan, and graduated from Buchanan High School in 2019. She began riding BMX at the age of 9 in the mentorship of her cousin Brett Banasiewicz. Her cousin was one of the top BMX riders in the United States.
Entering her first BMX competition in 2012, Hannah is now a three-time world champion at 19. A Pan American Games gold medalist, she has become the first American to qualify for BMX freestyle. Apparently, the Tokyo Olympics marks the first time BMX Freestyle is an Olympic sport.
Further, she is also a four-time Urban World Championship medalist. She has won three gold medals (2017, 2019, 2021) and a bronze (2018).
